How to Earn Money from Your Personal Blog (5 Tips Included!)

There are many people who creates a blog to share their stories, experiences, or write their diaries and some light writing. But there are also many people who creates blog to earn money, both purposed for fixed income or additional income.

How they earn money from a blog? Well, there are many ways to earn money from a blog, such as ads publishing, affiliate, selling products, etc. But, the factor that makes these ways effective and earn a lot of money is same: high incoming traffic.

If there are a lot of visitors coming to your blog, then you can use them to earn money. For example, Google Adsense offers money to ads publishers for every impression and every single click on an ad. Or Amazon and E-bay that have an affiliate program that offers money to you for everyone who buys their products through you. That all sounds legit, no?

Usually, bloggers use non-personal blog to earn money and high incoming traffic. They use blogs that contain anything that someone searches and needs. They create an article with a lot of research. They also update the articles on a frequent time. They try every way to make their articles get indexed by Google and located on the first page. And the quality of the content is important but no more than its rank quality. Most of them do all of that.

But, how about using a personal blog?

Using personal blog to earn money is 100% possible. What is wrong with it? The type of the blog is not important as long as your blog is popular and has high incoming traffic. And in addition, the main key to making money using blogs are:

1. Quality content that interesting and people need. Usually people need helps. Therefore, for example you can make life problems as your main ideas. Find the solvers and tell it to everyone through your blog. Another example you can create articles with interesting content and title. You may often meet articles with a title that sounds like '10 Things You Should Do Before You Die' or '10 Games You Should Play Once in Your Life' right?


2. Blog SEO. What is SEO? Based on moz.com, SEO is the practice of increasing the quantity and quality of traffic to your website through organic search engine results. People often search for their problem solvers in search engines like Google. When they need, they search it, isn't it? So if you have quality content but your blog is not showing on search engine, it's all useless. And well, the practice of SEO coverage is so wide. There are keyword research, title research, meta descriptions, header tags, internal page linking, image ALT and many more! I think moz.com is one of the best place to learn and start your SEO.

5 Tips on optimizing your blog to get high traffic and earn money

If you really want to try it, let's follow some tips from me as a little start point.

1. Optimize your article title.

Look at your post titles. Have they, at least, been thought for SEO? They may sound like:

• "My Experience in XXX City", 
• "How I Beautify My Persian Cat", 
• "I Solved My Complex Problem!", 
• etc. 

They were like that because you wrote the titles with your heart, which is actually good but not so good for your SEO. Why? Let's assume we are a searcher on the Google. Will you search with a keyword like "How Do I Beautify my Persian cat?" (included the question mark)? Yeah, you may will. But, in my opinion, there are many more people that searching with this keyword: "How to Beautify a Persian Cat" or even simpler. There, people search the main point. That is why a diary book title-style is not so good for Google SERP (Search Engine Result Page).

Other than that, you need to write the titles with "persuasion" and "emotional" words which will attract someone's attention. Example of those words are just like "Crazy", "Happiness", or even "Deadly".

Now let's try to optimize the titles I've mentioned. I prefer to replace them with "Exciting Experience in XXX City with its Stunning View", "10 Tips Beautifying Your Beloved Persian Cat!" and "Solving XXX Problem Without Any Emotional". Aren't they look better now? They have been optimized with SEO + persuasion words!

2. Optimize your content.

Content optimization covers many things. But, the main key of it is just to make your content relevant to its title. If you have a "10 Tips" title then you must give the 10 tips. Also make the content with your heart just like when you write your diary, but don't forget to make it simpler and focused.

3. Register Your Blog to Google Webmasters and Submit Your Post URL

The fastest and easiest (or even the only one) way for your articles to get indexed by google is by submitting your post URL to the Google Webmasters. If your posts are not indexed by Google, it means your posts won't be found even with any keywords.

Go to Google Webmasters and register yourself then add your blog. Afterwards, submit each of your post URL to this page.

4. Share your article.

If there are no visitors on your blog, then Google cannot count your blog rank. And your article cannot appears on the page one. Therefore, no visitor. So, share your article anywhere. But, keep in mind to not spam too much. That may will make you and your blog look bad. And it's better to get visitors that come from Google search.

Well, if you have no many competitor, it may easy to get indexed on the page one.

5. Last, Register your blog to advertising company or affiliate program.

This is the second key. After you have a lot of visitors, register your blog to advertising company (I prefer Google Adsense) or an Affiliate Program. You can also sell your own products or service.
